The WCPSS Grants Administration Office administers procedures by which WCPSS central office and school-based staff members may apply for grant funding. The purpose of these procedures is to ensure that all grants awarded to the WCPSS are Administered in a programmatic and fiscally responsible manner. The WCPSS Grants Administration Office strives to make these procedures efficient and easy to follow.

WCPSS staff are required to abide by the following procedures in developing and submitting grant applications that are to be managed by the school system:

  • Among school-based staff, any decision to pursue a grant award must have the approval of the principal.
  • Following the principal's approval, the WCPSS Grants Administration Office must be notified about the decision to submit an application...before the application is submitted. Please complete the Grants Administration online Intent to Apply form. It is through this communication that the Grants Administration Office can advise applicants about specific conditions of the application, and determine the level of assistance that can be provided to the individuals developing the application.
  • The initial communication with WCPSS Grants Administration Office about an application need to be at least 4-5 weeks before the application's deadline. This permits the Grants Administration Office to advise the WCPSS Board of Education about the application.
  • The nature of the application that will be developed must be consistent with the Board's goals and strategies.
  • Should the grant be awarded, the WCPSS Grants Administration and Compliance Office must be notified of the award and any special conditions attached to the award.
  • All funds associated with an award must be properly managed in a district or school budget code.

Please read and abide by the procedures listed above for grant applications that are to be managed by the school system. Thank you for your consideration!
