A quick glimpse into 3^rd Grade

Discipline – Our classroom will have its own economy. The students will earn and lose money. The students will have an opportunity to go shopping at our classroom store every two weeks.

Homework -As third graders, your child is expected to write their homework in their planners every Monday. Their planners must be signed or initialed daily. Homework is due on Friday unless otherwise stated.

Snack/Lunch - The students will have snack time. The snacks are to be brought from home.  I do not keep snacks in the room.  Please send in a snack that is healthy and not loaded with sugar. Birthday treats are welcomed and will be enjoyed at lunch as dessert.  Please remember that Wake County policy states that all food to be shared must be store bought.  We cannot serve homemade goodies.

Conferences/Contacts – We are required to meet twice a year for a conference. If you have concerns throughout the year, you may request a conference at any time. I do prefer to be contacted via email. I check my email throughout the day. My email address is ndelon@wcpss.net. I will write any notes or behavior issues in your child’s planner.

Lunch Bunch -The students love to participate in lunch bunch. The students will be selected randomly so everyone gets to participate. You need to have your volunteer badge and can only take four students. However, if you bring siblings the number to classroom children you can take are limited.

Newsletters - Newsletters will go home twice a month. A monthly calendar listing the specials will be sent home at the start of each month for you. Please keep it in a safe place.
